Description
Susie the Little Blue Coupe Storyboard Studio Print Group of 4, Peter Pan Studio Character Sheet Print, and Trix Cereal Studio Model Sheet Prints Group of 2 (Walt Disney, c. 1950s). Directed by Clyde Geronimi and released on 6/6/52, Susie the Little Blue Coupe featured animation by Disney Legend Inductee Mr. Ollie Johnston, and Mary Blair was the Art Director. Presented in this lot are four studio-printed sheets featuring storyboards for the short. The printed sheets feature photos of the bulletin boards that held the storyboard drawings. Each piece measures 17" x 14", and has three sheets stapled by the top right corner. Also included are three printed sheets featuring the art of the Disney animator/designer Tom Oreb (1924 - 2009), whose task it was to update Disney's characters, so they reflected a more hip, modern market as well as create characters for brands such as Trix, Ipana, Mohawk Carpet, and others. One of the sheets showcases his artwork for more "simplified" Peter Pan character models for TV, measuring 14" x 11"; the other two sheets display in his great mid-century modern style drawings for a boy (21.5" x 10.75") and a girl (20" x 10") used in the production of a Trix commercial. These incredibly rare prints were used in the studio, and were produced in very low quantities. The prints show some handling and edgewear from production use, and they show fold marks. The condition of the lot is Good to Very Good.From the 40-Year Disney Artist/Director Ted Berman Archive.
