Description

Peanuts Snoopy Consumer Product Concept Art (Bill Melendez, 1980). Practically since its inception in 1950, the characters from Charles Schulz comic strip Peanuts have appeared on every conceivable consumer product ever made. Books, clothing, toys, food packaging, video games, you name it, there has likely been a version emblazoned with one of the Peanuts characters. It is a true testament to their popularity and has been a constant for over seven decades. Offered here is an original concept drawing for Peanuts consumer products. The piece features four graphite thumbnail drawings of potential images for a variety of products. They range in size from 5.5" wide to 2" wide and are individually dated from September to November of 1980. It's not certain what exactly they were created for, but the detail in them is exquisite. Highlighting Snoopy with Woodstock and Charlie Brown, they are drawn on 9" x 12 " tissue paper. It's a rare and delicate piece of original concept art featuring the characters from arguably the most popular comic strip in history. Minor handling and condition is Very Good.
