Peter Pan John Darling Character Study/ Model Sheet (Walt Disney, 1953). John Darling is the brother of Wendy and Michael Darling, in Walt Disney's 1953 animated feature film, Peter Pan. Wearing round spectacles, a white nightshirt, a black top hat, John plays the character of Captain Hook while his younger brother Michael plays Peter Pan during their nursery games. Presented in this lot is a superb character study of John Darling. The character study is a series of illustrations that have been created to explore an animated character, after the character has been conceptualized. In visual arts, the character study acts as a comprehensive guide to map out character traits and "proof of concept." Proof of Concept in animation is the first stage of any character study definition. It is called such because, as an animator, you must prove that the character can emote in a way that would make an audience care, empathize and relate. Rendered in graphite on 16 field animation paper. John measures 9" tall in this character study. Mild edge wear with pin holes in the top corners. Overall condition is Very Good.
