Description
Doug "Doug's Doodle" Doug as Smash Adams with Secret Agent Porkchop Production Cel Signed by Jim Jinkins (Nickelodeon, 1991). "Doug Funnie, oh what a guy, the guy who's made of cool- And he's still in school!" The dashing Smash Adams makes a striking appearance alongside his secret agent sidekick Porkchop in this rare original production cel from the Season One episode "Doug's Doodle" signed by Doug series creator Jim Jinkins. Headlining the debut trio for the Nicktoons brand, Doug premiered in August 1991, with "Doug's Doodle" airing as the second segment of Episode Ten on November 10th. Parodying none other than the iconic James Bond as one of his many imaginative alter egos, Doug's Smash Adams persona can be spotted early near the 0:29 timestamp of the segment when viewed online as the episode launches into a spoof of the classic gun barrel Bond theme song. This multilayer cel features the tuxedoed spies hand-painted to full-figures with Doug standing at 5.5" and Porkchop at 3.25" as well as a gun barrel effects layer that spans the frame at approximately 12" x 9.5". The 12 field cel bears production codes along the lower edge of each layer and has been placed on a print background for display purposes. Jinkins' signature can be found below Doug's feet and a Jim Jinkins CoA is included.
