Description
Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas Oogie Boogie and Sandy Claws Storyboard Original Art Group of 2 (Walt Disney/Touchstone, 1993). "Well, well, well. What have we here? Sandy Claws, huh?" Says this infamous Boogeyman, depicted as a bug-filled burlap sack with a penchant for gambling. Oogie Boogie lives on the outskirts of Halloween Town, in a casino-like lair underneath the treehouse of his henchmen Lock, Shock, and Barrel. In the film Jack orders Lock, Shock, and Barrel to kidnap Santa Claus, whilst he takes the jolly ruler's place in delivering gifts to the children of the world for the night. Though the trio of trick-or-treaters was specifically ordered to leave Oogie Boogie out of the festivities, the trio takes a successfully kidnapped Santa to Oogie's funhouse, where the sadistic gambler teasingly tortures the confused victim, wanting to have a little fun before devouring him. Presented in this lot are two storyboards with six panels on one and four panels on the other board. The storyboards are from the hand of noted storyboard artist Jorgen Klubien and depicts the scene in Oogie's lair. Rendered with pen and marker on 8.5" x 11" sheets.
