Description

101 Dalmatians Anita, Roger, Pongo, and Perdita Production Cel Group of 4 (Walt Disney, 1961). From 101 Dalmatians, we present a group of four 16 field production cels of the main characters: Anita, Roger, Pongo, and Perdita. Each hand-painted cel is full figure and was masterfully created for the film, notably the first Disney feature film to utilize xerography. The film adapted the story of the 1956 novel The One Hundred and One Dalmatians by Dodie Smith with Pongo and Perdita teaming up with dogs from across the countryside to rescue their pups from Cruella De Vil and her henchman. The cels are found at about 12:39 (Roger as he approaches the window to spot Cruella's car), 13:21 (Anita as Cruella enters their home), and 54:59 (Perdita in the snow as she tells Pongo they've gotten themselves lost on the way to rescue the pups) while Pongo has a similar pose to couple of scenes in the film. The characters were primarily animated by a few of Disney's "Nine Old Men" including Milt Kahl, Ollie Johnston, and Frank Thomas and range from about 7'' x 3.5'' to 3.5'' x 7''. All of the cels are displayed in one Plexiglas-fronted 38'' x 32'' frame. All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition. Very Good condition with light handling wear and some paint chipping/wear to Roger's cel.
