Description
The End of Evangelion Shinji Ikari and Asuka Langley Soryu Production Cel Setup (Gainax, 1997). "I'm afraid of Misato and Ayanami... Help me. Please help me, Asuka..." From one of the most notorious and controversial scenes of the Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise, presented is an astounding original production cel setup from Hideaki Anno's gripping animated feature conclusion, The End of Evangelion. Shinji Ikari stands over Asuka Langley Soryu in a dramatic image full of atmospheric detail, rendered in haunting 5-point fisheye perspective. Hand-painted in a washed-out monochrome, this piece captures the cold, bone-chilling mood of the infamous scene. Seen at the 2:13 mark of the film, this setup has an image area of 10" x 7" on the 12 field cels. The cels are both numbered A1 END and B1 END, and they are the only cels that exist from this shot. Unbelievably rare, this piece shows minor handling and edge wear due to normal use in production, and the condition is Very Good.Auction Info
