Fantasia Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer's Apprentice and Water Effect Animation Drawing Original Art Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1940). We present in this lot an incredible group of two animation drawings from the segment "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" of the 1940 Disney classic Fantasia, showcasing Mickey and the water effect seen at the 36:56 mark of the animated film. Desperately trying to deal with the mess he caused by his careless use of his magic powers, Mickey is featured in this animation drawing fully dressed as the Sorcerer's Apprentice, one of his most iconic looks, half submerged in the water, using a bucket as he attempts to fix the small flood caused by the rampant Brooms. Mickey measures an amazing image size of 4" x 4.75", done in graphite with red, green, and yellow colored pencils, featuring the lower part of his body drawn with the rippling effect of the water. The enthralling water effect is rendered with astonishing detail in graphite with red, green, and brown colored pencils occupying an image area of 10.25" x 5.5", also showcasing a drawing of Mickey in blue colored pencil and many color callouts and the note "Sc. 64/Seq. 7" in the top left corner. The drawings are featured on a 36.25" x 17" Plexiglas-fronted frame with two mat openings, each measuring 13.25" x 10". Both drawings show faint age-related toning and minor handling wear from production. All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition.
