Hayao Miyazaki - Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind Nausicaä Drawing with Signature (Topcraft, 1987). Undeniably rare, presented is an original drawing of Nausicaä, princess of the Valley of the Wind, by the hand of none other than animation legend Hayao Miyazaki. One of the most widely celebrated anime directors of all time, Hayao Miyazaki's films are often considered the pinnacle of Japanese animation. His work in the industry dates as far back as the 1960's with Toei Animation (Astro Boy), and his impact on animation in the following decades can't be overstated. Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind is his second animated feature film after The Castle of Cagliosto, and while it was made before Miyazaki co-founded Studio Ghibli, it is widely considered part of the Studio Ghibli canon. This piece features a breezy and masterful drawing of Nausicaä, and it is signed by Hayao Miyazaki and dated 8/4/1987. Rendered in ink on gold-trimmed shikishi board, this piece shows very little handling wear. A rare and highly coveted original Miyazaki drawing, the condition of this wonderful piece is Very Good.
