Description

Princess Mononoke Ashitaka and Yakul Production Cel (Studio Ghibli, 1997). Ashitaka chases across the landscape on his trusty steed Yakul in this gorgeous original production cel from Princess Mononoke. This piece can be seen at the 1:31:51 mark of Hayao Miyazaki's landmark film, the last of his traditionally animated features before Studio Ghibli switched to digital animation. Miyazaki himself oversaw many of the hand-painted cels of the film, and he is believed to have retouched parts of over half of them. This rare piece has a hand-painted image area of 6.75" x 7.5" on the 13.75" x 9" cel, and the cel is numbered A7 in the upper right corner. Displayed on a printed background for presentation purposes, the cel shows minor production handling and edge wear, and the condition is Very Good.
