Description

Dumbo Production Cel Courvoisier Setup (Walt Disney, 1941). "They're almost ready out there, Dumbo. Don't forget to wave that flag!" The adorable Dumbo practices for the big act by waving his monogramed flag this fantastic original production cel Courvoisier setup for his titular 1941 Disney classic. With endearing expressions and mannerisms inspired by his supervising animator Bill Tytla's own son, this determined little pachyderm can be spotted attempting to rehearse his finale near the 30:49 timestamp shortly before tripping over his enormous ears which are on full display in this charming scene. He has been hand-painted to full-figure measuring approximately 6.75" x 4.5" nicely centered on the cel which features pegholes on the left edge. It has been laminated on the top side to protect the linework and trimmed slightly to an overall size of 10.25" x 8.25". The sweet cel has been paired with a similarly-sized original Courvoisier custom airbrushed background that features the iconic WDP stamp in the lower left corner, and the setup has been matted to an overall size of 14.5" x 13" with an aperture of 9.75" x 7.5". With typical handling and edge wear including the noted trimming/lamination, faint rippling of the cel, minor surface debris, and slight age-related toning, overall this resolute performer is in Very Good condition.
