Description

Gene Colan and John Tartaglione - Original Art for Daredevil #38, page 5, "Don't Look Now, But It's Dr. Doom" (Marvel, 1968). You always knew that Dr. Doom travelled in style, didn't you? And nothing less than a limo would suit our Latverian monarch. From 1967, this Daredevil page is audacious study in tension as DD is kidnapped by Dr. Doom and his henchmen. Dauntlessly drawn by Gene Colan and inked by John Tartaglione, this page features shots of Dr. Doom and an incredible close-up of Daredevil. The overall page size is 10.5" x 16.5" with an image area of 10" x 15". The art is clean, with some minimal white-out usage and pencilled storyline notations by Colan along the bottom edge. There are also four small holes punched into the top and bottom of the art, used in the printing process. Still a gorgeous slice of Silver Age superhero life by one of the greatest comic artists to hold a pencil.
