Description
Pinocchio RARE Vintage 40" x 60" Linen-Backed Movie Poster (Walt Disney, 1940). A rare vintage 40" x 60" theatrical poster for Walt Disney's Pinocchio, professionally linen-backed and impressively large for standout display. Known to collectors as a "Bus Stop" or "Subway" poster, this format was designed for mass transit shelters, outdoor placements, and occasional lobby standees-typically exhibited outside the theater to command attention from passersby and drive-in audiences. Produced in far smaller numbers than the standard 27" x 40" one sheet, the 40" x 60" format saw heavier use and exposure, making survivors in good condition exceptionally scarce. The size itself largely disappeared by the mid-1980s with the collapse of the National Screen Service distribution network, further elevating the desirability of earlier examples. This Pinocchio poster offers bold, classic imagery with rich inks stabilized by expert backing, ready for framed presentation. It shows very light surface wear consistent with careful handling and remains remarkably well-preserved for a 75-year-old theatrical piece.
