Description

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Old Hag Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1937). "All alone, my pet?" This outstanding final animation drawing of the Wicked Queen as the Old Witch (or Hag) was created by a Disney Studio animator in production of Walt Disney's first animated feature, and a cel painting was made directly from it. Norm Ferguson (1902-1957) supervised the animation of this scene; he was one of Walt's leading animators of the 1930s and 1940s and one of four supervising animators credited on the film. The Queen transforms herself into the Old Hag and presents herself to Snow White at the kitchen window of the Seven Dwarfs' cottage. Peering in and doing her best to smile benignly at Snow White, she remarks "Mmm...makin' pies?" Seen in action near the 1:10:08 timestamp of the film. Rendered in graphite and colored pencil, the image of the Old Hag measures approximately 6.5" x 4.75" on a 12 field 5-peghole sheet of animation paper. Featured on the bottom left edge of the page is a stamp of the drawing's production codes with the frame number 226 numbered in both right corners. The piece has light age-toning, minor handling and edgewear, light spots of staining to the left and below the drawing, mild wrinkling to the left of the drawing, and two peghole supports from production. In Very Good condition.
