Description

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Snow White Early Concept Art Attributed to Albert Hurter (Walt Disney, 1937). Snow White is frozen in fear in this dramatic early concept art from the historical 1937 film. This early piece of graphite concept art was created for the sequence where Snow White flees from the Huntsman into the woods, the forest turning into monsters before her eyes. The concept looks to have been created for the most frightening part of the sequence at about 10:22 when Snow White runs into a dead end, the tree branches turning into reaching hands that try to grab at her. The stunning drawing is attributed to Albert Hurter (1883 - 1912), Disney's first inspirational sketch artist whose art influenced the more realistic look of the film. He was also in charge of developing and approving the visual look of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and later Pinocchio. The graphite drawing measures about 6.75'' x 5'' with a smaller 2.25'' x .75'' sketch below it, proving Hurter was always drawing. The concept is rendered on trimmed 3-peghole 10.5'' x 8.5'' paper and is a rare opportunity to add a piece from such an influential Disney artist to your collection. Very Good condition with minor edge and handling wear and light age-related toning.
