Description
Dinosaur RARE Eema Production-Used Resin Maquette (Walt Disney, 2000). A rare production maquette of Eema, the elderly Styracosaurus from Disney's 2000 animated feature Dinosaur. Created as a three-dimensional study to translate 2D designs into workable 3D forms, maquettes like this were essential for testing scale, silhouette, and personality before final modeling and animation. Sculpted in unpainted resin by Mike Jones (credited on screen as Michael Floyd), this substantial studio original measures approximately 16" x 10" x 12". Eema-voiced by Della Reese-was designed by David Krentz and animated by supervising animator Gregory Williams Griffith; her gentle resolve and lumbering gait are thoughtfully captured here in mass and posture. Released by Walt Disney Pictures on May 19, 2000, Dinosaur marked Walt Disney Feature Animation's first fully computer-animated film and the 39th entry in the Disney Animated Canon, blending live-action backgrounds with CG characters. This maquette embodies that pivotal production process, preserving the tactile step that shaped Eema's on-screen presence and ensured the model would be fit for purpose.
