The Flintstone Comedy Show 22-Character Pan Size Comparison Cel with Pan Master Stock Background (Hanna-Barbera, c. 1980). The Flintstone Comedy Show brought everyone's favorite Stone Age family back to the screen with a plethora of new entertaining episodes. The series included new episodes focusing on the Flintstone and Rubble families, but it also had several other prehistoric-themed segments: "Bedrock Cops," "Pebbles, Dino, and Bamm-Bamm," "Captain Caveman," "Dino and Cavemouse," and "The Frankenstones." Here is a simply incredible original pan size comparison cel created for the series. The cel includes an astounding twenty-two full-figure characters! This includes characters from all of the show's segments. From left to right, the characters depicted are: Chester (Captain Caveman's secret identity), Dino, Cavemouse, Captain Caveman, Shmoo, Fred, Wilma, Barney, Betty, Rockjaw (the Frankenstones' pet), Hidea Frankenstone, Frank Frankenstone, Atrocia Frankenstone, Freaky Frankenstone, Pebbles, Bamm-Bamm, Penny, Wiggy, Moonrock, Schleprock, Zack Hatrock, and Rock LaLanne. Interestingly, the last two characters in this line-up don't actually appear in this series. They were likely planned as recurring characters, but ended up being cut before the show aired. Zack Hatrock was part of the Hatrock family, who appeared in two episodes of the original 1960s Flintstones series, "The Bedrock Hillbillies" and "The Hatrocks and the Gruesomes." Rock LaLanne is based on fitness guru Jack LaLanne, but his character never actually appeared in any Flintstones media, making this quite a unique piece! A character based on LaLanne did appear in the Flintstone Comedy Hour episode "A Pound in Time," with the name Jack La Rock, though he looked quite different from this incarnation. The cel measures a whopping 39.75" x 10.5". It is displayed on a fantastic original, hand-painted pan Master background, also from The Flintstone Comedy Show. This background depicts the interior of Barney Rubble's house. It is rendered with gouache on background board, and measures an incredible 40.5" x 10.5"! The piece is labeled in its upper right corner with 154 STK BG BH-2. This is a stock background, meaning that it was used over and over again throughout the series. The setup is in Good condition overall, with handling and edge wear from production use. The cel shows some paint chipping throughout, as well as some small tears, staple holes, some scuffing, and some debris. There is a vertical fold in the middle of the cel. The background has some scuffing, staining, and creasing, as well as a few small tears on its edges.
