We must go to the dungeon and cheer him up." Eyvind Earle sets a dreary mood in this spectacular original concept/color key painting from the development of Sleeping Beauty. Created for the moments seen at the 1:01:53 mark of Disney's animated masterpiece, this is a stellar image of the fan-favorite villain descending into the dungeons of her dark castle. Maleficent was famously designed by Disney Legend Marc Davis, whose designs provided endless inspiration for Eyvind Earle's unforgettable concept work for the film. Rendered in gouache on 14" x 6" illustration board, this piece bears the signature of Eyvind Earle in the lower right corner.
