Startling Comics #23 Davis Crippen ("D" Copy) (Better Publications, 1943) CGC FN+ 6.5 Cream to off-white pages. At the height of World War II, super-heroes of the day were depicted battling the enemy. Hitler appearance. Legendary Golden Age artist, Alex Schomburg, provides the Pyroman cover art. To date, only one copy of this issue has been graded higher by CGC. Overstreet 2006 FN 6.0 value = $147; VF 8.0 value = $299. CGC census 11/06: 1 in 6.5, 1 higher.
