Description
Mickey and the Seal RARE Mickey Mouse Production Cel Sequence of 3 (Walt Disney, 1948). This Charles Nichols-directed short followed Mickey as he cared for a little seal that snuck into his picnic basket at the seal park. We've only seen a handful of production cel sequences from the 1940s that feature this iconic character, but this outstanding lot includes a sequence of three 12 field 5-peghole production cels of Mickey from the start of the short. This isn't your average mouse either - he's dressed to impress with a hat to match! You can find these hand-inked and hand-painted cels starting at about 0:40 as Mickey waves to catch the seals' attention, tossing them a few fish from his picnic basket. These large and impressive full figures range from about 5'' x 6.5'' to 7.5'' x 6.25'', noted as 25, C-34 and 49. They are presented on a printed background from a different production for presentation purposes. The lot exhibits minor edge and handling wear, some paint separation and loss, and small cracks that may require professional restoration. Fair condition overall.Auction Info
