Disney Auctions - Beauty and the Beast "Beast, Lumiere, and Cogsworth" SOLD-OUT Limited Edition Big Fig #139/250 (Walt Disney, 2006). "And when we touched, she didn't shudder at my paw." The gentle Beast learns to love another and prepares to dispel the curse in this Big Figure inspired by Walt Disney Picture's Beauty and the Beast released through The Art of Disney at Disney Parks! Disney Big Figures debuted in 1989 with a simple release of the "Disney Standard Characters" Mickey, Donald Duck, Pluto and Goofy. However, Disney retail branches expanded the collection to include exclusive and limited-edition figure releases based on popular feature films, issued through The Disney Store, The Disney Catalog, and Disney Parks. Walt Disney Picture's Beauty and the Beast is remembered for its warm and charming cast of characters and Alan Menken's memorable music which furthered the renaissance for feature animation at Walt Disney Studios. This impressive "Beast" Big Figure comes to life through an intricate sculpt and carefully applied hand-painted features atop a heart-shaped parquet floor base. The figure is accentuated by miniature figures of Lumiere and Cogsworth. This collectible was released through Disney Auctions in a limited edition of 250, was sold out and soon "retired", and has long since been sought after by fans and collectors. Measuring 25.5" x 24" x 16.5", this "Beast" Big Figure is comprised of four parts - a Beast figure, a 9"-tall Lumiere figure (with flickering "flames" requiring batteries; not included), a 7"-tall Cogsworth figure, and a heart-shaped base. The entire display is in Fine "as-new" condition, and is accompanied by its polyform packaging and the original 24" x 19" x 16.5" box numbered "139 of 250". The box is in Good condition exhibiting creases, folds, bends, and much wear throughout. The companion Disney Auctions "Belle" Big Figure is available in another lot of this auction.
