Berenstain Bears Calendar June Illustration Original Art (Random House/One Stop Posters, 1988). The Berenstain Bear family have fun collecting lightning bugs on an early summer evening in this gorgeous original calendar illustration. Stan and Jan Berenstain created the Berenstain Bears in the early 1960s for a series of children's books for editor Theodor "Dr. Seuss" Geisel's Beginner Books imprint. Over 400 books have been published to date, plus several years' worth of calendars like the one that featured this image. The calendar art is in gouache on paper mounted to a 13" x 16" backing board; the approximate image size is 11" x 12.5". Color prints of the calendar's front and back covers are included for reference; the back repeats the June page and illustration. The art is in Good to Very Good condition with some handling wear.Auction Info
