Description
Maison Ikkoku "Be Still My Beating Heart! Asuna's Very First Time" Kyoko and Soichiro 10.5" x 15" Production Cel with Pan-Sized Key Master Background (Studio Deen, 1987). Immersed in her thoughts, Kyoko watches Shoichiro drink water in this outstandingly gorgeous pan-sized Key Master setup from Maison Ikkoku. This romantic comedy series is based on the manga of the same name by the legendary author Rumiko Takahashi, highly regarded for his long career of famous titles like Urusei Yatsura, Ranma ½, and InuYasha. The pan-sized 10.5" x 15" four-layer cel shows our female lead, Kyoko, with her tennis bag measuring 3" x 4.25" and her Samoyed, Soichiro, drinking from his bowl with an image size of 4.25" x 2.75". The Key Master background is adeptly created in gouache on 10.75" x 15", all seen starting at the 10:15 mark of the 59th episode of the anime, "Be Still My Beating Heart! Asuna's Very First Time." The cel layers are slightly adhered together and taped to the background by the top edge, also presenting archival artist tape. Staple holes can be seen on the top edge of the cel and background. Faint stains can be seen on Soichiro. Light fading can be seen on the linework and minor surface scuffing can be seen on the cel, not affecting the art. Overall, the lot showcases minor handling and edge wear from production and is in Very good condition.Auction Info
