Marc Davis Mandow Snakeman Original Watercolor Painting (Walt Disney, c. 1970s-80s). "One of the snakemen in full ceremonial dress." This is a magnificent original ink and watercolor painting of a Mandow Snakeman by the lauded Disney Legend Marc Davis (1913 - 2000). While on his trips to Papua New Guinea with his wife Alice, Marc Davis created numerous firsthand paintings of the sites, people, and art he encountered. He was so inspired by what he saw, he began creating a book project titled The Bite of the Crocodile, which was ultimately unpublished. A highly coveted find! The piece is signed by the artist, and it is framed under glass with a mat window size of 10" x 15" and an overall frame size of 19.5" x 24.5". Marc Davis' hand-written caption can be seen on the back of the frame (quoted above), along with a matching projector slide. All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition. Well preserved in the frame, the piece shows minimal handling, and the condition is Very Good.From Disney Legend Inductees - The Marc and Alice Davis Archive.
