Description

Super-Rabbit/Oily Hare Bugs Bunny Production Cel with Production Background Master Setup (Warner Brothers, 1943/1952). In the final moments of Super-Rabbit, Bugs emerges from a phonebooth dressed a real superhero, a US Marine, singing The Marine Hymn with rifle shouldered as he marches off into the sunset. Offered here is an original hand-inked hand-painted production cel from the scene at the 7:27 mark of this Superman parody and wartime propaganda cartoon directed by Chuck Jones. The fantastic full-figure profile of Bugs in uniform measures 4" x 4.5" on a full 12 field 2-peghole cel. It is paired with an original hand-painted production background from the 1952 theatrical short Oily Hair, directed by Robert McKimson. The two pieces work flawlessly together to form a very rare Master Setup. All Warner Brothers production art from this era is incredibly rare, and a setup of this quality and condition is practically a unicorn in animation art collecting. Minor handling, edge wear and pinholes. Condition is Very Good.
