Description
Duck Soup to Nuts Porky and Daffy Color Model/Animation Drawing (Warner Brothers, 1942). Porky and Daffy are at it again in this wonderful Merry Melodies theatrical short directed by Friz Freleng. Presented in this lot is an original animation drawing/color model of the two as they appear at the 2:42 mark in Duck Soup to Nuts. The full-figure character images stand 5.5" x 4.4" respectively on 12 field 2-peghole paper. They are rendered in graphite with colored pencil and are surrounded with color call-outs with inkers instructions. Color model drawings were typically pulled from completed stacks of animation drawings from a particular scene, and are usually the best of the bunch. Each is one-of-a-kind and were archived by the Ink & Paint department, so they rarely left the studio. This is a fantastic image of these two early adversaries who first met in Porky's Duck Hunt (1938). The piece shows minor handling and age-related toning. Condition is Very Good.Auction Info
