Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Dopey Production Cel Courvoisier Setup Group of 2 with Walt Disney Signature (Walt Disney, 1937). We have in this lot not one - but two hand-inked production cel Courvoisier setups featuring the only dwarf from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs with blue eyes, Dopey, accompanied by a signature of the man who started it all, Walt Disney. This wonderful display was originally shown at the famous "Disney Animations and Animators" exhibit at Whitman Museum of American Art, taking place between June 24 and September 6, 1981, over 40 years ago! Showcasing some of the most marvelous images from the famous soap bubble scene of the film, this lot has full-figure images of Dopey measuring 4" x 4" and 3.25" x 2", as seen at the 46:24 and 46:45 marks of the historic film. Both cels are shown on the original hand-painted airbrush Courvoisier backgrounds that enhance these endearing pictures of the beloved character. Showing a prime representation of Walt Disney's cursive signature from the '30s, the featured fountain pen autograph measures 3.25" x 1". This lot is showcased on a 24" x 17.5" glass-fronted frame, with mat openings measuring 8.25" x 8.25", 5" x 6.25", and 3.25" x 1". All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition. Dopey images present some paint wear, light waviness, and overall light handling wear from production. Some fading and normal age-related toning can be seen on Disney's signature. In Good to Very Good condition.Auction Info
