Description

A Unicorn in the Garden Theatrical One-Sheet Poster (UPA, 1953). In 1953, United Productions of America produced an animated adaptation of James Thurber's story "The Unicorn in the Garden." The animated short was directed by William T. Hurtz, and it has remained popular in the decades afterward, being voted the #48 cartoon of all time in Jerry Beck's 1994 survey of animation professionals. Here is a rare original theatrical one-sheet poster for the short. The top of the poster reads "James Thurber's Battle of the Sexes," with the poster proclaiming the film to be "the masterwork of America's master humorist...now the greatest of all UPA miracle cartoons!" The poster measures 26.5" x 38.5". It comes folded, and it is in Fair condition, with handling and wear, including toning, tearing, creasing, staining, and missing paper. There is some pencil writing on the back. It would benefit from professional restoration.
