Description

The Little Mermaid Ariel and Sebastian Production Cel Setup (Walt Disney, 1989). "Why don't you go tell my father. You're good at that." Ariel says, glaring at Sebastian with a fury as cold as sea ice. This enormous 16 field 5-peghole production cel setup can be found at roughly 38:33 in the hit film as Ariel is about to leave with Ursula's henchmen Flotsam and Jetsam. This remarkable hand-painted setup is made up of two matching cels labeled S49 and 49. One features a full figure Sebastian, measuring approximately 2.25'' x 3'', while the second focuses on the protagonist herself. This is an absolutely gigantic image of Ariel and one of the largest production cels we have seen of her! She is a full 13.75'' x 7'', spanning nearly the entire 16 field cel. The two are presented on a printed background from the scene, beautifully hand-painted. This lot is not only a superb cel setup, but also a piece of the last Disney film to use traditional hand-painted cel animation. The cels exhibit minor edge and handling wear with light residue and two small tears on the pegholes. Very Good condition overall.
