The Little Mermaid Sebastian Production Cel with Background (Walt Disney, 1989). "Why, if Ariel was my daughter, I'd show her who was boss. None of this flitting to the surface and other such nonsense." The King's Advisor, Sebastian, shares his parental strategies in this lot that captures the famous crustacean as seen at the 13:54 mark of The Little Mermaid, featured on an astonishing Master background of the armrest of King Triton's throne. Voiced by Samuel Ernest Wright, the fan-favorite character is featured in this hand-painted 16-field production cel standing in full figure with an impressive figure size of 4.25" x 4.5". The visually stunning Master background is crafted in gouache on a 17" x 12.5" illustration board, attributed to the skilled background artists who worked on the film: Kathy Altieri, Doug Ball, Jim Coleman, Greg Drolette, Dennis Durrell, Dean Gordon, Lisa L. Keene, Tia Kratter, Cristy Maltese, Andrew Richard Phillipson, Phillip Phillipson, Craig Robertson, Brian Sebern, and Robert Edward Stanton. The cel bears a Walt Disney Animation Production Art stamp in the bottom right corner, and the background has a painted inscription in the top right corner that reads "Original Production Background by Walt Disney Animation." The lot comes with a Linda Jones COA. With minor handling and edge wear from production, the lot is overall in Very Good condition.Auction Info
