Description

Sinbad the Sailor Theatrical Poster (Ub Iwerks, 1935). Ub Iwerks met Walt Disney in 1919, and they started a business together that eventually led to the formation of the Walt Disney Studios and creation of Mickey Mouse. After leaving the Disney Studios in early 1930, Iwerks formed his own studio, with shorts first distributed by MGM. By 1935, the ComicColor series was distributed by Pat Powers. Sinbad the Sailor was one from this series, released on 7/30/1935. This wildly colorful poster is perhaps the best known from the ComicColor series; the Wikipedia entry for this title features an image of it. This one sheet (27" x 41") poster has been professionally restored and linen-backed and framed with glass for an overall size of 29" x 43" x 1.125". Good condition.
