Description
Virgil Ross - Marvin the Martian, Daffy Duck, and Porky Pig Drawing (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). Marvin points his disintegrating pistol at "eager young space cadet" Porky as Daffy "Duck Dodgers" looks on, in this scene reminiscent of the classic 1952 Chuck Jones-directed short, Duck Dodgers in the 24 and 1/2th Century. Artist Virgil Ross was a long-time animator for Warner Brothers, Hanna-Barbera, Filmation, and several other studios, with a career that stretched back to the 1930s. He worked on everything from Oswald the Rabbit to Scooby-Doo, as well as fan-favorites like Star Trek: The Animated Series and The New Adventures of Batman. This 11" x 7" drawing on 12 field animation paper is signed by Virgil Ross (1907 - 1996). The piece shows minor handling; otherwise condition is Very Good.Auction Info
