Original Ken Anderson concept art from Pete's Dragon. Original Ken Anderson concept art from Pete's Dragon. (Walt Disney Studios, 1977) Wonderful mixed-media concept/presentation artwork by animator Ken Anderson for Pete's Dragon. "Elliott The Dragon", the only animated character in the film, was designed by Ken Anderson and the animation was directed by Don Bluth. For this concept piece, Anderson cut out an existing photo (most likely from a magazine), mounted it on board, and then added original cut-out drawings of Elliott to form the scene. Accomplished in ink, graphite and colored pencil. The artwork is mounted on a 10 x 9.5 in. piece of artists board. Image measures 8.5 x 8 in. Studio stamp on reverse. Overall condition is fine with slight wear to edges of board.Auction Info
