Description

Jim Holdaway Modesty Blaise #1992 Daily Comic Strip Original Art (London Times Mirror, 1969). A solo episode for Willie Garvin, loyal assistant to the heroic title character, Modesty Blaise. It is from the "Take-Over" story arc that ran from 8-18-69 until 1-10-70. Holdaway captures to perfection the desolation of the Moorlands, with looming, cloudless skies and a cinematic perspective. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Dimensions, 18.75" x 5.5". As is common with Holdaway's Modesty Blaise strips, the art-paper surface has been professionally skimmed, or peeled, from its board backing. Aside from some mild overall paper aging and a title-logotype replacement, the art is in Excellent condition.
