Description

Frank Willard Moon Mullins Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 6-14-31 (Chicago Tribune, 1931). Moon Mullins, the trials and tribulations of an amateur pugilist, made its debut on June 19, 1923. The strip eventually evolved into a domestic comedy, focusing on Moon's life in Mrs. Schmaltz's Boarding House, a format that saw the strip through nearly seven decades of syndication. The piece offered here, measuring approximately 16.75" x 22.25" overall, features Moon and many members of his supporting cast. A delightful Sunday page, this piece also includes the Kitty Higgins filler feature at the bottom. In very good condition, there is some evidence of light soiling in several spots, pinholes in the margins, and a few notes, but this does little to detract from the overall eye-appeal of this early 1930s classic.
