Description

Alex Ross Wizard X-Men Spectacular Proposed X-Men Costume Redesigns Preliminary Artwork Original Art (Marvel/Wizard, 2001). Alex Ross, fan-favorite painter in the extreme, created these compelling and stunning costume redesigns for the X-Men. Marvel passed on the designs as they instead allowed Frank Quitely to provide the new look for the New X-Men book he was starting to work on with Grant Morrison at the time. Wizard produced this special issue to highlight the new X-book, but also thankfully included the amazing Alex Ross designs so fans could at least see them. This prelim piece is pure graphite on 17" x 14" paper. Signed by Ross in the lower right corner. In Excellent condition.
