Description
Morris Weiss Mickey Finn Wedding Daily Group and Lank Leonard Wedding Gift Original Art Group of 7 (McNaught Syndicate, 1939/70). All-Wedding Special! This group contains six Mickey Finn strips by Morris Weiss (1915-2014) leading up to and including the wedding of Uncle Phil and Minerva Mae. As a special bonus, it also includes a very personal gift of artwork created by Morris Weiss for his friend (and creator of Mickey Finn) Lank Leonard's wedding in 1939! Weiss was Leonard's assistant on the strip at that time and in 1968 took over the strip completely as Leonard retired. The wedding gift is dated 6-19-39 and measures 11" x 14.5". It is tanned with edge/corner wear, pinholes, and light foxing. It is in Very Good condition. The six daily strips from 1970 are dated: 7-10; 7-20; 7-21; 7-27; 7-30; and 8-1-70. They are produced in ink on Bristol board with an image area of approximately 16.5" x 5". All are in Excellent condition.More information about Morris Weiss. See also: Weiss, Morris Artist.
