Description

Arthur Adams JLA Annual #3 and Green Lantern Annual #8 Cover Preliminary Artwork Original Art Group of 5 (DC, 1999). DC went Ape for their annuals in 1999. Gorilla covers have long been a thing at DC Comics, but this was the first time it was used as a crossover event theme. Title "JLApe", the main core members of the JLA were turned into gorillas in both the JLA Annual #3, and also in their own separate Annuals. Here are two pages of prelim art by Art Adams where he worked out the cover design for JLA Annual #3, another two pages where he worked out the cover design for Green Lantern Annual #8, and then one last page with some other rough layout work. These were all created in blue pencil, some with additional ink work, on 8.5" x 11" paper. Some of the pages have a light dusting of over-spray paint from some airbrush work. Overall in Excellent condition.
