Description

Pete Hoffman Jeff Cobb Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 5-1 (General Features Corp., c. 1960s). Fans of Steve Roper & Mike Nomad will find plenty to admire about Jeff Cobb, a similarly conceived showcase for journalistic heroism. Hoffman had ghosted Steve Roper during its transition from gag-strip to dramatic narrative, and then in 1954 received the chance to launch his own such suspense-and-intrigue feature -- which lasted into 1978. This example, undated as to year, reflects Hoffman's maturing style of the 1960s. Ink over graphite on illustration board with an image area of 17.75" x 5.5". In Very Good condition, with toning to the credit stat, a missing syndicate stat, and production tape in the margins. From the Ethan Roberts Estate Collection.
