Description

Dave Cockrum and Murphy Anderson Superboy #184 Story Page 6 Matter-Eater Lad Original Art (DC, 1972). A page from Dave Cockrum's first Legion of Super-Heroes story! He would go on to become one of the LSH's most influential artists and then just a few years later help launch the "All-New/All-Differnt" X-Men in the Marvel Universe! One of his first acts as Legion penciler was to re-design Saturn Girl's costume and the Legion Cruiser (as seen on this page) But he was so new at this point that DC gave Murphy Anderson's name top billing in the story credits, even though Anderson only supplied the inks for this back-up story. Featured on the page are Matter-Eater Lad, Saturn Girl, and that gorgeous new Legion Cruiser (that obviously borrowed some aesthetic from Star Trek's Enterprise). Crafted in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". In Excellent condition.
From the Murphy Anderson Collection.
