George Wilson Ripley's Believe It or Not! True Ghost Stories #77 Cover Original Art (Gold Key, 1977). George Wilson's fully painted covers lend persuasive realism to the impossible images of Gold Key's supernatural chiller comics. This splendid example is as impossible as they come -- a harbor haunted by the ghosts of two Scotsmen -- but it makes for a compelling job of artistry. A Wilson piece must be seen in its natural state, because the printing process rarely captured his vivid color schemes and delicate textures. Watercolor and tempera, pastels and charcoal, on Bristol board with chalk highlights. Image area, 11.25" x 17". Excellent condition.More information about Wilson, George.
