Description

Jack Kirby and Greg Theakston - Lightray Unpublished Illustration Original Art (DC, 1986). Jack "The King" Kirby provided the pencils for one of his own creation's, Lightray's, appearance in the Who's Who: The Definitive Directory of the DC Universe in 1986. Greg Theakston lightboxed those pencils when he inked the image for the book. This is not the inked version that was published in the book, but appears to be another lightboxed inked version from Theakston that could have been a first attempt or produced as a later date (as he still had the Kirby original pencils to work from). The differences between this and the published piece are subtle to be sure. This is a great looking work, produced in ink on 11.25" x 15.75" Bristol board. Note: As this was lightboxed from Kirby's original art, there are no actual pencils on this page. Slight tanning along the edges. In Excellent condition.
