Walt Kelly Pogo Fourth Month Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 8-12-49 (New York Star, 1949). Early work from just the fourth month of this strip's long run. Kelly's work is widely considered to be a benchmark for the art of the comic strip. Howland, Churchy, and Pogo star in this tale of ree-form and women of mystery! The ink over blue pencil on Bristol board piece has an image area of 16" x 4.5" and is in Very Good condition, woith overall toning, and light soiling and foxing.
