Description
Captain America Comics #74 (Timely, 1949) CGC VG/FN 5.0 Off-white to white pages. "Seekers of a copy of Cap #74 are urged to prepare for nail-biting, possible hair loss, and fits of depression" was how Comic Book Marketplace summed up the scarcity of this title. That same publication ranked the issue #2 for "most difficult to find" and "highest-demand" among all non-key Timely issues. This is Cap's last Golden Age appearance -- the series lasted one more issue but Cap himself wasn't in #75! The Red Skull, meanwhile, wasn't seen again in comics until Tales of Suspense #65 a decade and a half later. Interestingly, this copy's from the same collection as the Action #7 we're offering in our May Signature auction, though the two books were published a decade apart. Overstreet 2009 VG 4.0 value = $1,388; FN 6.0 value = $2,082.
