Description

Reamer Keller Laugh Digest #9 Gag Cartoon Original Art (Humorama/Marvel Comics, 1968). Says His Majesty the Sultan: "I had to give up poker. I was winning too many wives." Veteran humorist Keller contributes a lively harem scene, rendered in seemingly spontaneous (but actually painstakingly composed) brush strokes. One of the most prolific cartoonists of his generation, Keller published approximately 1,000 panel-gags a year for several decades -- with a clientele that ranged from the modestly positioned Humorama magazines to the slicker likes of Esquire and The New Yorker. Ink over graphite on smooth-finish Bristol board. Image area, 10" x 15". Excellent condition. From A Collection of Great Cartoonists and Illustrators.
