Description

Gus Arriola Gordo Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 12-8-68 (United Feature Syndicate, 1968). One of Arriola's most endearing characters, the hipster-artist spider known as Bug Rogers, cuts loose on a monumental sculpture called "Tunnel of Love." It's a web, of course - designed to attract romantic flies. Brilliant. Arriola's affinity for modernistic art found an ideal outlet in the occasional adventures of Bug Rogers, who lived among a variety of witty animal characters in the household of title character Gordo Lopez. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Dimensions, 23.5" x 15". Excellent condition, barring marginal adhesive staining.
