Description

Scooby-Doo Publicity/Color Model Cel (Hanna-Barbera, c. 1980s). A rare one-of-a-kind five-character publicity/color model cel based on the Scooby-Doo series. Scooby Doo Where Are You! was the first series in the Scooby-Doo franchise. The series was the result of CBS and Hanna-Barbera's desire to create a non-violent Saturday morning program which would appease the parent watch groups that had protested the superhero-based programs of the mid-1960s. Publicity cels are hand-painted at Hanna-Barbera's ink and paint department and often used by the marketing team for press and by consumer products for merchandising items like children's books, calendars, clothing designs, and toys. This fantastic five-character publicity cel measures 16.5" x 11" and mounted on a backing board of 20" x 14". Publicity cels are always great pieces and this one is no exception! Condition is Fine.
