Description

The Turn-Tale Wolf Room Interior Production Background (Warner Brothers, 1952). "Oh uh, hello little nephew, just tiding up th' joint, er, th' house..." says the Wolf as he hides his moonshine still behind the drape and places a lampshade over a jug of 'shine, in this wild Robert McKimson-directed short. Here's that scene's hand-painted production background, done by longtime WB artist Richard H. Thomas (1915 - 1996). You can see it at the :59 mark. The short was released on 6/28/1952. Mr. Thomas worked in the Bob Clampett, Norm McCabe, Frank Tashlin, and Robert McKimson units at Warners, and later worked at Hanna-Barbera and DePatie-Freleng Studios. Check out the detail in those two "pin-ups" on the wall! Va-va-va-voom! The art is in gouache on lightweight 2-peghole board measuring 14.5" x 10". Minor handling and edge wear. Very Good condition.
