Description

The Marvel Super Heroes Hulk Production Cel Setup and Master Background (Marvel/Grantray-Lawrence Animation, 1966). The Incredible Hulk hops down to the ground in this rare original hand-inked, hand-painted 2-cel setup on a hand-painted Master production background. The figure is based on a Steve Ditko-drawn panel from The Incredible Hulk #6. The Marvel Super-Heroes was the first animated series based on Marvel comic book characters, syndicated to local television stations across the country. Featured were individual segments starring Captain America, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, The Mighty Thor, and Prince Namor the Sub-Mariner. This Monday-through-Friday series was short-lived, running on from September 1 to December 1, 1966, but there were 65 episodes produced, and a total of 195 segments. Images for the show were for the most part taken from comic book stories; this image of Hulk landing from a leap is based on The Incredible Hulk #6, with art by Steve Ditko. Cels and background art have been trimmed to 11" x 9.5", but you can still see the matching episode number 206-10 on both the figure cel and background (the tree is on a separate cel). Very Good condition.

More Information: EDIT: Added background information for the figure.
