Description
Super Friends Publicity Cel with Master Background and Animation Drawing (Warner Bros., c. 1990s). Here's the published original used for a lithocel that was included in a DVD box set. This is an amazing hand-inked and hand-painted 20" x 14" publicity cel placed over a hand-painted 22" x 15" background. The cel was created from the original artwork by Bob Singer. Singer began at Hanna-Barbera in 1965 after eight years at Warner Bros. He remained at H-B for the next three decades as character designer, art director, and layout artist. Singer was responsible for crafting many of H-B's most popular series of the 1970s and 1980s, including Super Friends, Laff-A-Lympics, and Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, where he would design the Mystery Machine plus all the monsters and villains. Included in this lot is the original Bob Singer 20" x 12.5" drawing used for the cel. These are great images featuring Batman and Robin, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and the Wonder Twins. This is one of the best Super Friends cels that we have seen. A "must-have" for fans of the animated crime fighters. Fine condition.Auction Info
